Mission Story

So I was reading something about an Elder's Quorum lesson and it reminded me of an experience I had in Moscow. So... gather round boys and girls bc it's story time!!!

So I was serving in the International Branch in Moscow, so church was in English. Our good friend and all-around great member missionary, Troy, was giving the EQ lesson. Lucky for him, the topic was pornography. It was a little awkward, but it was nothing compared to what happened next. So this one older guy who is a lawyer from Chicago and works for the Church's general counsel says (direct quote... more or less):

"If we're going to talk about pornography, then we should also talk about masturbation because those two things go hand in hand... no pun intended."

Ummm.... AWKWARD! Tanner and I probably turned into red tomatoes trying not to laugh (or cry... I don't know which). I felt even worse for Troy (he is in his early 20s). Anyways, the moral of the story is, don't say weird things in church and try and make jokes about things going hand in hand :)

.... so I was going to put up a picture of all of the involved parties, but I thought that might be a little embarrassing for our ambidextrous friend. But this is me, Elder Blackburn, Troy, and our investigator Vera.
